New easy-to-install Electos Personal, Commercial and Developer Editions now available |

The latest Electos Web Content Management System, revision 4.1, is available in three different downloads: the Electos application for use with an existing Web Application Server and the new Electos Personal and Commercial Editions, which both include an embedded Visual DataFlex Web Application Server for an easy, one-step installation.
Electos Personal - Expanding the Community!
The Electos Personal Edition is a complete, free, ready-to-install content management system for personal, non-commercial use. Like Visual DataFlex Personal, Electos Personal is intended to allow users to become familiar with and use the software personally - without cost.
Electos Personal includes the all of the features and functionality needed to operate one "personal" website on one server or virtual machine instance (registration is required). Electos Personal includes an embedded, restricted-use Visual DataFlex Web Application Server that is transparently installed so users can start building web sites fast & easy!
Electos Personal highlights:
- Enables non-technical users to embed search engine optimization keywords at the page, category or website level
- Allows a "Members Area" that automatically restricts specified areas of the web site to access by visitors with login IDs and passwords
- Creates image galleries
- Licensed solely for personal, private, non-commercial use

Electos Commercial
A complete, ready-to-install commercial content management system that includes the features and tools necessary to manage and deploy multiple web and e-commerce sites. Electos Commercial is licensed per hardware server or virtual machine. A restricted-use Visual DataFlex Web Application Server is included and transparently installed with Electos Commercial. Electos Commercial includes all of the features of Electos Personal plus:
- Licensed for business/commercial use including hosting of Electos Content Managed Web Sites for third parties
- Includes "Site Manager" to manage multiple Electos web sites on one web server
- Webshop e-commerce module with payment systems for PayPal and ProtX

Electos' Visual DataFlex source code is available under a special license for those that wish to customize the CMS or integrate it with other solutions.

New Italian Visual DataFlex manuals published |

 Three Italian language manuals about using Visual DataFlex have been published by DataFlex Service Italia sas, Data Access' representative for Italy.

AJAX Framework Training, Pidley, Cambs, England, February 18-19
Asckey Data Services is offering training on the AJAX Visual DataFlex Library and how to use it to enhance Web Applications with advanced client side scripting. While the VDF Studio wizards can do a lot, there is no doubt that in order to get the best out of the AJAX concept and to really get into Web Application development, you need an introduction to this new development environment. This 2-day course is being given by a combination of Mike Peat (Unicorn Interglobal) and Harm Wibier (Data Access Europe), and will provide an introduction to Javascript and the Document Object Model (DOM), and then show you how the VDF AJAX library puts these to work for you.
